This week was my first as a Communications Specialist in the Executive Speakers’ Office (XSO) at SAS. SAS is a software analytics company that focuses on data integration and business intelligence. Their software does just about everything, I’m learning. And the #1 “Best Place to Work” from Fortune magazine seems well-earned. The good news is I like what I’m doing and who’s doing it with me. The bad news is I can find plenty of excuses not to write. My novel has probably taken more than a few steps back since I started. Any suggestions on how to integrate writing into a day already filled with the task? I’m thinking I’ll try AM sessions. I’ve already thwarted any weekend efforts. I have a decently lengthy commute, but if I can put in 30 minutes a few times a week it’s better than last week!
