Thanks to a generous Christmas gift from my mom, I’ll attend the 2011 NC Writer’s Network Conference in Asheville, NC, on Nov 18-20. I’m excited about the sessions and the keynote address from Silas House, and I’m going to submit my work to a master class… because why the heck not? We’re going to arrive early on Friday and pay the exorbitant amount of money to see the Biltmore Estate, and then Mom will visit her stepsister while I conference it out. I’m particularly excited about Saturday’s “Brilliant at Breakfast” session on Authors in Appalachia and the sessions on character development.
If you’re a writer and you’re near NC, register! And if you think you want in a master class, register soon, because the deadline is Monday. Which means I’ll probably keep scratching it off my calendar and sliding it to the next day until Sunday.
